About Us

BHOMRA CUSTOMS CLEARING & FORWARDING AGENTS ASSOCIATION is a trade union organization of agency owners engaged in business as clearing and forwarding agent at Bhomra land port after obtaining C&F license from the customs authority at Bhomra land port under Satkhira district in Khulna Division. The organization is under the jurisdiction of Divisional Labor Department, Khulna. The registry number is 2046. It has been established 1995. Presently, it has 195 members. Day by day, it has been increasing.

OBJECTIVES

· To establish and maintain the economic, commercial, social rights of every member of the BHOMRA C & F AGENTS ASSOCIATION.

·   To maintain mutual good relations, unity, fraternal amity and harmony among all the members of the BHOMRA C & F AGENTS ASSOCIATION.

·  To provide possible financial assistance in the form of loans in case of sudden calamity, inability to invest capital in the business of any of the members of the Association and to provide financial assistance to the family members of the members due to physical disability or death.

·   Possible financial assistance to members in distress due to strike or lock-out.

·  To assist any officer or member who suffers any physical, mental or financial injury or loss while acting in the interest of the Association.

· To inform the members of the Association about all the rules and regulations of Customs Clearing and Forwarding Agency business and to create a mindset to comply with the same.

· To collect and inform the members of the Gazette Notifications issued by the Government regarding Customs Clearing and Forwarding Agency business.

·   To seek legal solutions by the Association to resolve the complications arising from the business related to clearing and forwarding agencies by the Customs and Port Authority and to set up sub-committees, arbitration committees to resolve business disputes of the members with the Customs, Port Authority or any other organization to make and bear the expenses thereof.

· To make necessary efforts to increase members’ knowledge of honesty and responsibility towards the laws of the country and in their own business.

·  To belong to trade unions or federations of owners similar to those prevailing in Bangladesh and to work for the protection of the interests of the members and for the attainment of common objectives.

· May purchase and dispose of land and buildings or any fixed asset for the benefit of the Association with the approval of the General Meeting.

· To form general funds and welfare funds by admission fees, monthly subscriptions, welfare contributions, one-time donations, daily savings or other legal means as members and to use the funds for the purposes and purposes of the constitution.

·   Depositing funds of the Association as fixed deposits in any bank, post office or savings paper or investing the general funds of the Association in any profitable sector subject to the approval of the Executive Committee.

·  To prescribe punishment for violators of the provisions of the Constitution and the rules of the Association.

· Make necessary amendments and additions to the Constitution according to the needs of the situation and time.

· Grants from the Welfare Fund of the Association to the President and General Secretary for social welfare up to a sum of Taka 5,000/- five thousand and in case of excess subject to the approval of the Executive Committee.

 

· Taking legal remedies on behalf of the Association in cases where the Customs authorities illegally or harassingly complicate the renewal of a member’s license or temporarily suspend and cancel it.
